Can Open Source Software Kiss Goodbye to Software Piracy?
What do you think? Are there enough open source alternatives to curb your pirating appetite? Are all of the apps you use available in an open open source form?
I think that people steal because they want something that is not free. It is that simple. You can make it sound pretty if you want, but it all comes down to the fact that we want something that doesn’t belong to us, but we don’t feel like paying for it (whether it is because of not having money or not thinking the item is worth the money).
I have found an open source alternative to every piece of software I use. It does frustrate me that I cannot play my games on Linux and that music downloaded at a price comes with more restrictions that music bought in a physical store, but other than that, I am satisfied with the apps I use that I have found in the open source world. Share you thoughts with me on this subject.

Just like you I mainly use open source software - but I understand that it is hard for people not familiar with the open source concept to actually find good open source software. Therefore I normally recommend a site called Open Source Alternative - http://www.osalt.com/ - this site lets people find open source software alternative to well-known commercial products. This makes it much easier for people to find the software they are looking for.
