Announcing New Packaging for Windows Vista and 2007 Office System
I am glad they redesigned the packaging, but what I think is more important is how the system actually works. Vista is a lot less at this point than it was intended to be. There is no WinFS in the final version. There are way too many options as to which exact version of Vista a person will need. This will ultimately confuse the end users. There are too many planned features that will limit media playback because of DRM.
I just think that getting all excited about a product that is only a shadow of its former self is a little silly. It is just a box people. Yes, it has curves, but it is still only a box. If this new design helps to sell this product, I will hate myself for living in a world where pretty things sell crap.
