This is an open letter to Macromedia requesting that you please develop a 64bit version of flash. You developed a product that now is a part of many websites across the Internet. You push your product hard and then when the operating systems go to 64bit, you leave us high and dry. There should not even be talk about whether or not you will do it. Many people are switching to 64bit capable operating systems and browsers. At this point, they are not using your software to view dynamic content made by people using your software.

I must admit that as a geek, a lot of the “flashy” stuff on the Internet gets on my nerves, but since many web developers today seem to think that this and Javascript are their only tools, I must have support for flash to see many sites I visit. How long will you ignore your 64bit followers? I ask that you begin development now if it is not already underway. If you have hit a roadblock and fear that there will never be a 64bit version of flash, please let the community help. If you will not make a 64bit flash plugin, please release a development kit or an api or something that can help the developers in the community give us what we need.
