Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol 6.0

The new Microsoft Remote Desktop server on Vista is now more secure and does not support the Mac client. I found this out the hard way when trying to remote to my Vista desktop to run Microsoft Money. I run OSX on my MacBook and when I tried to log in remotely to my Vista machine my connection was refused. It took me a while to figure that one out. No work on if or when they will release a Mac client for the new RDP. After talking with a friend this week, I am concerned that Microsoft may not release such a tool. He mentioned the fact that the new RDP is supposed to support single application remote and not just whole desktop. Therefore, Microsoft may be slow at releasing a tool that would allow you to run single Windows applications on your Mac. Only time will tell.
