Yahoo Destroys MusicMatch Jukeox
There are fews Windows applications that I have seen worthy of my money in the past. One of those applications that I shelled out coin for back in the day was MusicMatch Jukebox. This was in the early days of Napster, Morpheus, AudioGalixy, and Gnutella. I had so many newly downloaded music files and nothing to manage them with. I found MusicMatch and discovered that it could sync with remote databases to rewrite my tags and make my collection cleaner. I discovered its database for storing and managing my music collection. I was able to align all of my artists by name and album. I was very impressed with this application.
Then, I also discovered its other talents. MusicMatch made a very nice recording studio. I would plug my guitar into the Line In and record away. I could create my own MP3s on the fly at a selectable bit rate. I was very excited about this. I was also able to rip my CDs to MP3. However, where has all of this functionality gone now that Yahoo has taken over the project?
People are complaining that Yahoo is pushing them to move to Yahoo Music and the problem is that they don’t yet have all of the MusicMatch features integrated. They have destroyed a once great product. Yahoo, please stop tearing up such a good thing. You really should have just re-branded the existing product and not messed with the code or tried to create something new. Yahoo, in my opinion, is just a spec of dust compared to their former life. Really, once Google hit the stage, the other search engines have nothing to show anymore. Funny thing is, Google is not really a search engine focused company anymore.
