So I go to my insurance company’s office the other day to pay my bill and I ask them if they have online bill pay yet. The answer is still no. I say still because I have been asking for this for almost five years. I like our insurance company. We have never had an issue with a claim or payments. They do try to sell me more insurance all of the time, but that is to be expected. My wife and I have been with Alfa Insurance almost since our first year of marriage. My one complaint is that they don’t offer me a way to pay them without coming in to the local office. Luckily in our state there are a lot of locations to pay, but I pay every other bill over the Internet.

For people who know me, I am not the kind of person who goes anywhere to pay bills. I like to pay my bills from the comfort of my computer chair. I just find it extremely difficult to arrange my daily schedule to get to businesses before they close to give them money. I would much rather come home after work than rush to someone’s office. It they want my money, and want it in a timely fashion, they should offer me a way to pay online. I am not referring to these services offered by banks and other institutions where I enter the payment online and they cut a check. I want to debit my account and credit theirs within a day or even hours. I think that businesses should get current and realize that this is the way things are whether they like losing that personal touch with their customers or not. I think it would behoove businesses to offer me more ways to give them my money.
