This is the kind of thing that gets me cranked up. If I could get rid of the Wintendo functionality of Windows, I would be free from its grasp forever. I only keep coming back because game developers refuse to code games outside of the confines of DirectX. I need more Linux games. I am totally against console gaming. I want to have a machine where I can game, browse the Internet, and work simultaneously. I don’t want that machine to require my television.
I hope more games keep coming in the future. However, the word port scares me. I want true native Linux games. I want game developers to take the plunge and test the Linux market to see if it is sustainable. I think it can be and will be, but only after they take the first step. We need the major video card players to stay with us on this so that we can convince the game developers that we can play what they publish. Here’s hoping for mun Linux gaming goodness in the near future.
